Cacao Contraindications

What is Ceremonial Cacao and its Contraindications RAW Cacao contains many bioactive compounds and essential minerals that work together to support immune function, and cardiovascular health, enhance cognitive function, elevate mood, and improve mental health, oxidative stress, metabolic syndrome, inflammatory conditions, fatigue, skin health, bone health, and overall nutritional health. It is a higher vibrational plant spirit/essence that can assist in creating and fostering the above connections as well as fostering connection in the Spiritual realms. It is a superfood packed with beneficial minerals and neurochemicals that can elevate our state of mind / boost our mood while simultaneously grounding us. She also works with us in the heart/ spiritual realms to connect to our inner wisdom and soul’s truth by creating an opening to receive ourselves as Source energy. On ther physical level, she increases our blood vessles so more blood can pump into our heart. On a spiritual level our heart is our gateway to healing and joy. And as heart medicine, Cacao expands us to receive more love in our lives, thus raising our vibration and helping us to connect to our true authentic self, as a Divine being of light. When drinking one ounce of high-quality Cacao, one can experience increased blood flow, and mood elevation including energized, expansive, blissful, joyful, grieving, forgiveness, the release of stuck energy within, and a multitude of other expansive emotions.

But, there are some CONTRAINDICATIONS to drinking her. She does not have any hallucinogenic properties like other psychoactive plant spirits.etc.

Cacao contains low doses of caffeine but is known for its relationship with Theobromine. “Theobromine is a naturally occurring compound found in Cacao and select tea plants. It is a naturally occurring stimulant. Cacao has long been known for its energizing effect and was even served to ancient Mayan chiefs because it was viewed as a gift from the gods. As such, when scientists decided to name the new genus of plant, they called it Theobroma Cacao which means “Food of the Gods.” “Working with cacao regularly can result in long-term beneficial changes in brain function, primarily through the reinforcement of neural pathways that include more joy, love, presence, and connection. There is ample evidence for the neuroplasticity of the human brain, and regularly ingesting cacao with all of its beneficial neuromodulators and correlated reuptake inhibitors could have a long-term impact on dominant neural pathways” Please drink a lot of water before during and after a ceremony and please be advised of the info below. Contraindications: Medication (Antidepressants) SSRI antidepressants and anti-psychotics are not compatible with the MAOI’s (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) in cacao. Low doses are generally fine, people on higher doses should drink less cacao and lots of water.

Heart: Cacao generally increases the heart rate. If this is a concern for your body then please check with your GP before drinking. Blood Pressure: Cacao tends to lower the body’s blood pressure. If this is a concern for your body then please check with your GP before drinking. Taking other substances: If you are taking any other substances then please be aware that cacao increases blood flow to the brain by up to 40%… this may cause the effects of any other substances in your blood to be increased/amplified. Please note that even if you having no Cacao or even one sip of Cacao during ceremony, you still receive the benefits of her healing energy through heart resonance and cohesion. She will still work with you on ALL levels of healing simply through her energetic vibration.
